Architect and Designer
Lourenço Vaz Pinto
Lourenço is a Portuguese architect and designer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he is currently working at UNStudio and doing freelance work.
With a BSc in Architecture+Urbanism from the Lisbon School of Architecture and a Masters of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) he has acquired both a traditional theoretical background as well radical technological techniques that allow him to rethink architecture and design with the future in mind.
Having worked previously at Fragmentos de Arquitectura in Lisbon, Grimshaw Architects in New York and now UNStudio in Amsterdam, Lourenço has a wide breadth of experience in different types of projects, from region to scale, having worked on projects in the U.S. Europe and the Middle East, from residential to airports.
Studio Blnk serves as an incubator where his competition based work and design work come together, the studio serves as a theory guideline, believing in architecture as beautiful background and functional foreground. The studio spans client based residential projects to competition based entries, such as the Home competition 2020 where Studio Blnk received the Director's Award.
